Write. Read. Game. Repeat.

Stephanie writes ... and writes ... and writes some more. And occasionally remembers to breathe. She writes about video games for GameZone, comics for Impulse Creations, and books for Kirkus Indie. She runs a personal blog and book blog, too. She loves sci-fi and fantasy, English, coffee, and a whole lotta Batman.

brain itches Theme by Adam Holwerda.
Awesome cover artist Marques Cannon talks a little bit about the new zine.
marquescannon:

KICK PUNCH BLOCK
Here’s the cover I’ve been working on in secret for a while to a brand new zine started by my friend Stephanie Carmichael. Inside, I’ve also contributed a number of illustrations to go along with some cool articles by Stephanie and writing contributor Thomas Kempen.

KICK PUNCH BLOCK is an attempt to bring enthusiasm back into the conversation of video games. Too many publications and websites focus on mediocrity: they report news in stale bites and write reviews in monotone. While objectivity is important in video games journalism, subjectivity better resonates with gamers. At KPB, we do more than review games. We reflect on why we love them and discuss the industry from a perspective that meshes with the common gamer’s. We focus on the games we care about.
